Built in 1929, the Water Filtration Plant located at 33 Moross Road was designed in a neo-Georgian style by famed architect Robert O. Derrick, who also designed Grosse Pointe South High School. In 2006, the Foundation funded the building’s exterior restoration, which included cleaning the limestone, tuckpointing, and reconstruction of the front stairway. During construction, an original bricked-over fountain was discovered and subsequently restored as well.
